Ghana Travel Guide: Updates For You

It’s nearly three (3) weeks already since my last post about giving Ghana Travel Guide one more try … and there’s not been much activity here.

No, I’ve not given up.

On the contrary, I’ve been busy working on this site day and night: writing code, tweaking the website’s design, visiting some really cool places and building some vital contacts in the hospitality industry in Ghana– while doing a few gigs here and there to help pay the bills.

I’ve done so much work under the hood that you can’t see, but here are the few things that you can see on this website now:

  • Disclaimer and Terms of Service page is up. Nothing fancy… just a standard website legalese stuff
  • I also have a Privacy Policy page now, so visitors will feel comfortable when using the site, knowing their personal information is secured
  • If you’d like to contact me, I now have a contact page, with complete contact information including telephones (Ghana, US, UK numbers), e-mail, social networking profiles, and even snail mail address.
  • There’s a search functionality, which searches both the static pages as well as the WordPress-powered journal. This was built with Google’s Custom Search Engine Service
  • I have an intro page on the upcoming Ghana Travel Podcast. Woot!
  • There is a Newsletter subscription page, and even before I settle on a name for this weekly newsletter, people are already subscribing!

I’ll use tomorrow to cleanup the homepage, write an “About” page, and fix a few CSS issues that are still persisting. After that I’ll be pretty ready to roar ahead … bringing you juicy tips and practical guides to help you plan your trip to Ghana.

I’m so excited about this project. Are you?

Ghana-Travel-Guide.com - One More Try

How time flies! On the 11th of May, 2007, I registered this domain name - ghana-travel-guide.com — to build a website to help prospective travellers to Ghana plan their tips and enjoy their stay in Ghana.

My plan was to use the 6 months I had before travelling to Sweden for graduate studies to travel across Ghana and share my experiences on the road on this website.

But my health wouldn’t allow me to execute my travel plans, and instead, I started I resorted to writing articles for this website by digging into my local knowledge and experience. After a few articles, I got engulfed by other projects — and ended up abandoning the website.

But now I’m back! And this time, I’m here with full concentration. Look out for great photos and practical guides to help you plan your trip to Ghana and make the best of your time here.
